A songwriter and self-produced artist based on the Oregon coast. My work explores mortality, friendship, nature, and the absurdity of life — drawn from over a decade of extensive travel, deep engagement with the natural world, and sustained participation in songwriting communities.
I’ve written and recorded 150+ original songs since 2013, spanning folk, indie rock, electronic, and hard rock. After years fronting the rock band The Planet Of and playing as an instrumentalist across bands in California and Oregon, I’ve developed as a self-produced artist with a large and still-growing body of work.
My performances are built around storytelling. I organize songs into thematic arcs with space for conversation and genuine connection with audiences. I don’t play covers. I’m not a background music act. I’m looking for rooms where people come to listen.
I also host and produce The Songwriting Mind — a podcast and live event series exploring songwriters’ creative processes through in-depth, in-person interviews. Since December 2024 I’ve recorded over 40 conversations with artists across the US and Australia. The live version brings that conversation format to venues and festivals, with audiences witnessing the interview in real time.
Performances
Solo — Original songs with storytelling and audience conversation woven throughout. Ideal set length is one hour. Available with acoustic guitar, or electric guitar with backing tracks, depending on venue and context.
The Songwriting Mind Live — An intimate recorded interview with a local or touring songwriter, hosted in front of a live audience. Works well as a standalone event or paired with a solo music set. Professional audio provided.
For split shows, songwriter nights, or creative collaborations, I’m open to conversation.
Sound & Recording Services
Beyond my own work, I regularly do live sound and recording for other artists — performances, sessions, and video. I’m always glad to help friends and musicians in the coastal community capture and present their work.
Background
Extensive travel across the US, Europe, and Australia has shaped both my songwriting and my approach to connecting with audiences in new places. I’ve performed at venues, festivals, house shows, and outdoor spaces across many contexts — from Oregon Country Fair and Treefort Music Festival to pub stages in Tasmania. The Songwriting Mind has taken me to Boise, Portland, the Oregon coast, and Tasmania for recordings. A fall 2026 tour of the American Southwest and Mountain West is in planning.
